We thought this throw back Thursday post would be fitting for many of you NFL fans. I am sure you all remember the biggest scandal of the 2014-2015 NFL season, Deflategate. If not, let us refresh.
“Deflategate” related to the accusation that the New England Patriots were tampering with footballs used in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. The balls, which had earlier passed inspection, seemed to have been deflated, making them easier to grip, throw and catch, The league subsequently suspended Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for his alleged part in the scandal. The matter eventually made its way to the federal court where Judge Berman, vacated Brady’s four game suspension holding that, “the requisites of fairness and due process, were missing from the process leading to the imposition of the penalty.”1
