Over the past year, our team of five University of Alberta law students have blogged about the Magna Carta and held various events in celebration of its 800th birthday. We are very excited to announce that our final event will held on Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta Visitor Center in Edmonton. The event will take place from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will provide guests with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view the Magna Carta. As well, this event will feature various speakers, including Dr. Carolyn Harris and the members of Ms. Magna Carta. Professor Ziff will also perform his English Ballad, which commemorates the legal legacy of the Magna Carta. Stay tuned for more details on our other speakers!
The Ms. Magna Carta event at the Legislature will be a great opportunity to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, and the effects it has on legislation, values and justice in the present.
