Should lawyers read from their notes when delivering their oral arguments at a court, especially the Supreme Court? In Canada, the answer is probably - meh! In other words, not such a big deal. That being said, there is nothing more solid than a lawyer who delivers his or her argument sans notes.
So a few days ago, Justice Scalia at the US Supreme Court mocked a lawyer for reading from his notes!
