So. I realize that a wee bit of time has passed since I updated the blogosphere on the goings-on of shark conservation and of awesome music. Two seemingly unrelated pursuits united by... me.
1) Sharks!
For those of you who believe that domestic shark conservation remains a valid objective and remain undeterred despite the recent vote against an import restriction at the federal level here in Canada (it was close... 143 against, 138 in favour), some good new out of the United States where the New York State Senate has passed a bill that bans shark fin sale. Read about it here. Yes, the bill still has to pass the Assembly, but considering a similar bill passed without much difficulty last year, things are looking good.
2) Music!
I am not sure how this band passed me by last year, because had I given their album a few more listens it would have cracked my 2012 Top 10. For your listening pleasure, Alt-J:
