To tackle the graffiti problem in Los Angeles, Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich wants to give the police the power to arrest graffiti taggers for just hanging out. Trutanich tells the LA Times that he wants to "put together an end-of-days scenario for these guys.....if you want to tag, be prepared to go to jail. And I don't have to catch you tagging. I can just catch you . . . with your homeboys."
Obviously this is not going down well with the ACLU who call this idea "unquestionably unconstitutional" while some law enforcement officials say they are skeptical or ambivalent about it.
