Today the Gateway released a piece on Ms Suffragette's blog. We discuss our blog with feminist Gateway writer Alyssa Demers. In the article, we talk about commemorating the efforts of suffragists, and remembering that there is still a ways to go before we reach gender parity. In the article, Ms Suffragette says, “[i]t’s damaging when people say ‘we don’t need it anymore.’ They see that in law, women have achieved equal status and they think that it translates that women are treated equally — end of story — but protective legislation can only go so far.” Check out the rest of the article on page 16 of the Gateway!
And in case you missed it, here is Ms Suffragette's interview with @RyanJespersen of 630 Ched, where Ryan asks us about the significance of International Women's Day, the income gap across genders, gender disparity in religion, exclusion of women in certain areas such as video gaming, and more!
