Our colleague Moin Yahya has been appointed to the Alberta Utilities Commission and is now "on leave" from the Faculty. He has been something of a force of nature around our halls for over six years now and, in addition to warmly congratulating our colleague, we look forward to his return when someone taps him on the shoulder and asks him how life in the regulatory state is treating him.

It strikes me that it's the Utilities Commission that should be congratulated on its great good fortune in getting Moin.
To Moin: You're a brave man. Maybe they'll rent you an office near the courthouse. If the Board's recent tort history is anything to go by, you'll be practically living in the Court of Appeals.
Best wishes, and good luck draining them swamps, Moin. Don't let 'em get you down. There's only so much one man can do. After that, it's martyrdom.
